To changed the Psalms to metrical, rhyming verses puts them in the class of hymns, which is not a bad thing, but then, so often the versifying is badly done and then they're set to tunes that don't fit the meaning of the Psalm well. I much prefer chanting the Psalms - that way you can sing a <i>real</i> translation of every Psalm. Thanks, anyway, and I so agree with you about Psalter music!
