Good Things going down

See my first post for today on my Eggreport. Something different happened when I first checked the hens today.

Then see my second post for today on my Eggreport. Something really big happened today, and something cool too. Which is which? Interchangeable, I’d say! Post comments here and there, or anywhere!

  1. First time on to your Site and it’s wonderful! I’ll get back at it again and again to read all that you have posted. Love the pictures! Where was the 1950 farm? Are you city farmers?

I’m forwarding your Site address to Kathy and you may hear from her.

  2. Hi Uncle Abbie,

Thanks for visiting! To answer your questions: The 1950’s farm was in Maryland, near Sandy Cove where my Mom was working that summer.

Where we farm is another question: we are beginners, in the country, in a small subdivision. Eventually we’ll be on a larger property. Right now we have hens in the backyard, and garden. I’m hoping to do something with rabbits sooner than later.

When we have land to lease or buy, move or not, just have land … we’ll have cow or cows, and more hens and also broiler chickens, all pastured, a la Salatin. Joel Salatin is a farmer, author, and big promoter of Sustainable Agriculture, which is the angle of farming we are into. It’s totally different than mainstream commercial farming.

Well glad to see you here and come back often!
