My children were oohing and ahhhing over something in the other room, so I went to check it out. They had a Tom and Jerry coloring book of mine and were looking through it, and overly impressed with Mama’s past coloring of some of the pages [the ones that I had already colored].
I love to color, still, at 38 years of age. I colored these pictures in my late teens or early twenties, I think. So, no, I wasn’t a “child” per se. Russell thought I was when they were colored. So he has plenty of time to catch up to crayon coloring ability with me.
They unanimously voted these ajoining pages as “The Best”.
The picture scan of Jerry doens’t look like the page itself. His silver gray body and white chest are missing the crayon color for the most part.
I have two Tom and Jerry coloring books, and I’m going to, someday, scan in the un-colored pages, for printing out for all three children to color.
I love these simplistic pictures. It’s alot of fun to give them color and shading. Crayon is a medium that is nice to use, and that most adults don’t pay attention to for themselves.
My favorite crayons are Prang –made from Soy oil. They are great. The above was colored with Crayola though, as that’s what my first choice was back then, and it’s still the best for ALL the colors they produce, and the quality of the crayon. Prang are my choice for me now. The children use Crayola. The Prang ones do break easier, so they are for the older crowd. They produce a beautiful smooth experience of coloring, and the layering of different colors is neat.
